Lap Band Adjustment Information

How do they adjust your lap band?

The lap band system can be tightened or loosened via a process called a fill.  There is an access port in which saline can be injected or removed from the lap band.  If saline is injected it makes the band tighter which in turn means you can't eat as much.  Likewise if saline is removed the band is looser and you can eat more.

When does it need adjusting?

Usually if your hungry all the time or vomiting freqently after eating that will indicate if your band needs to be tightented or loosened.
